2022.01.22 15:16 catseducational Auto-admitted but not accepted into either of my major choices, what do I do now?
I’m eligible for automatic admission, and I planned on majoring in biology with my second choice major being undeclared natural sciences, but I was just rejected from both. I’ve now been admitted as undeclared liberal arts. Is there anything I can do about this?? Could I transfer into biology later or something?

2022.01.22 15:16 Lonely-Ordinary-8922 What is the value of machine learning for someone in the life sciences?
I've seen similar posts asking about programming and its usefulness in a biotechnology career, however, I haven't seen anyone ask about machine learning specifically. I'm hoping for some industry knowledge/career advice. I'll be graduating this April with an undergraduate degree in biochemistry with 3 years of research experience. I have a couple pending grad school applications but I'm increasingly feeling that a gap year would be a good idea. I've been developing my python skills and taking on basic neural networks as a hobby. My question is, are there job opportunities for undergraduate degree holders that have even a small portfolio in machine learning? I've done some basic job searching on indeed for this but typically they are for graduate degree holders with 5+ years of experience. I'm mostly looking for on the job training so I can acquire some more skills. Thank you!

2022.01.22 15:16 Raefu How do you get mass stardust?
How do people get so much stardust? Am I doing something wrong here? I catch everything I can, use star pieces when I'm going to be around a lot of stops etc. I can only play an hour or so a day, Am I just doomed to sub-1m dust due to this?
I have a near perfect glaceon I'm working on but beyond that I don't generally spend my dust. She is taking 8k+ per upgrade now though and it just feels horribly off balanced for star dust gain vs sheer amount of pokemon in the game. I'm only level 29 as well, which makes the level of incoming dust even worse. I am dreading getting closer to 50 and thinking about how much will be needed for just 1 single mon. Seeing pictures of people with 2-3 million+ dust makes me feel that I have to be misunderstanding something about this game but every guide I see online just says "catch everything!!1!".

2022.01.22 15:16 AndreTheGiant-3000 Registering for property sales/difficulty??
Hi all, I registered for the first time for the LA train terminal sale and was wondering what can be expected. Would love if someone who has bought one could share feedback. Once registered, how competitive is it? Basically, when I try to buy during the sale tomorrow, should I expect to be owning a train terminal, or have I basically entered into a lottery?
Also, are we allowed to register for each of the sales or are we only supposed to register for 1?

2022.01.22 15:16 Richardnogginn It’s been my family’s dream to own a ski cabin. Looking for suggestions
My 3 siblings and I grew up in Utah. We’re pretty familiar with Utah ski resorts but as we’ve started to consider going in together on an investment ski cabin, we’ve realized most Utah resorts aren’t very well suited for a ski-in ski-out setup, or even a nearby townhome. Snowbird, Alta, Solitude, Brighton, etc are all up canyons with very limited real-estate near the resort. We are looking at Park City and Deer Valley, but I wanted to ask the community for suggestions on resorts outside of Utah. I’ve only skied outside of Utah at Grand Targhee and Copper so I feel very ignorant about what else is out there. Most important things to us are:
Terrain / snow quality - I’m a powder hog and need advanced terrain to really enjoy it
Local town - something with a few good places to eat and some character is important
Market - we still have a lot of structuring and budgeting items to work out but we plan to be able to fully fund this with our 4 salaries. Since we won’t be using it all the time though, we want a strong Airbnb/Vrbo market to supplement the cost of the property. Being near an airport would also be a plus.
Cost: obviously cheaper real-estate is a plus, but not at the expense of the above priorities
We’re definitely still in the preliminary phase of things, but we’re trying to get a better understanding of what’s out there. This has been a dream of ours since we we’re teenagers (I’m 27 now, older brother is 30). We’ve looked at premier places like Big Sky, Jackson Hole, Snowmass, and Vail, but I’m almost more interested in smaller resorts like Whitefish, Eldora, Snow King, and Purgatory.
I know most of you don’t want more people on your mountain, but sell me on your resort! What makes it a good place to take yearly ski trips to? What’s the yearly snowfall like? How’s the terrain?

2022.01.22 15:16 Ilovemuffinandcakes Is Rick a good guy and Jerry a villain?
Rick and Morty theory: has Rick always been a good guy and Jerry a villain? Rick is considered an asshole mainly because he's left his family when Beth was a baby and doesn't care about anyone in general. But now we know he has never left his family because both his daughter and his wife were murdered by another Rick. Then, he spent all his life hunting down murderer Rick without success and when he turns seventy he goes to a parallel dimension where that Rick left his family and he took his place. Every time he's been accused of abandoning his family HE LIED just to play the asshole role so people would think he's the he's impersonating. Even when he meets Unity and they talk about Rick abandoning his family to follow crazy shit, he lied and played the role. His family was murdered just because he gave up on science to stay with them.
Jerry, on the other hand, doesn't ever give a shit about anyone and lures everyone to take advantage of them, in order to live the drama-life he desires. What if that's the real reason why Rick tried to push him out of the family? What if everything Rick has done, he did it just for the good of his family, even knowing they are not his actual family. Even in the episode of toxic Rick, it is shown that according to Rick being nice is healthy and being asshole is toxic, which makes him a good guy. And he considers his attachment to Morty unhealthy because that is not his actual grandson, he's just pretending to live with his family.
Is Rick a good but desperate guy? What do you think?

Grofe! Grand Canyon Suite movement 3. On the trail
I think the audience would be amused. Its a tune that they've been exposed to before but likely don't know where it's from. And its got some lovely violin glissando in the beginning, doesn't it?
